Oaxacan artisans create with their hands the most wonderful pieces, you can find a variety of products that can be purchased at markets or in the same places where they are made: shawls, rugs, hats, bags, vases, sculptures or magical figures, which are part of this ancient culture. The most representative:

• Alebrijes (wooden sculptures of fantastical creatures in bright colors): In San Antonio Arrazola to 15 Km., (40 min. approx.) southwest of the city on the road to Zaachila and San Martin Tilcajete to 27 km. (35 min. approx.) southeast of the city on the road to Ocotlán.

• San Bartolo Coyotepec, is famous because its black pottery, located in the south of Oaxaca to 11 km. on the road to Ocotlán.

• Teotitlan del Valle is famous thanks to the quality and beauty of its wool textile products; blankets, ponchos, carpets and rugs, made by pedal loom with wool yarn dyed with natural dyes. Located to 28 km. On the Federal Highway 190 to the Isthmus (30 min. Approx.)
